Maryland Representative Andy Harris said to have tried to bring gun onto House floor

According to a story in HuffPost, Harris set off metal detectors while trying to go into, then a security personnel found the concealed weapon utilizing a metal detector wand.

U.S. Capitol Authorities are investigating a report that Maryland Representative Andy Harris attempted to bring a gun into the Home chamber Thursday. “The USCP is examining the matter,” officials verified to CBS Baltimore.

Home members are enabled to carry guns on Capitol grounds, but not onto your home floor.Officers declined to let Harris in, so he returned and left without the weapon, then was permitted onto the floor, HuffPost said.New security measures, including the metal detectors, were put in location following the fatal Capitol riot on January 6. CBS Baltimore connected to Harris office for comment however hadnt heard back as of late Thursday night.
