A New Mexico county official and creator of the group Cowboys for Trump who had sworn to go back to Washington after recentlys riot at the U.S. Capitol to put a flag on Home Speaker Nancy Pelosis desk has been detained Sunday by the FBI.

“I am requiring that Couy Griffin immediately resign from the Otero County Commission or my office will seek his removal,” Balderas stated.
“Im gon na be there on Jan. 20 … and Im gon na decide for our country and for our freedoms,” Griffin stated during a meeting of the Otero County Board of Commissioners.

FBI special agents stated Griffin informed them that “he hopes a change in management can be accomplished without a single shot being fired, however noted that there was no choice that was off the table for the sake of liberty,” according to the affidavit.
Sunday, New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas required Griffins resignation by means of Twitter.
A video posted to Griffins personal Facebook page shows Griffin in the restricted locations, according to the affidavit.

Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin was apprehended on charges of unlawfully going into the U.S. Capitol.
Griffin did not instantly react to phone or text messages seeking comment.
On Thursday, Griffin said he planned to take a trip with guns to Washington, D.C., for Bidens inauguration.
