LG’s Rollable phone is real and launching in 2021 – The Verge

LG teased its Rollable phone the other day at the Consumer Electronics Show, and now the business is validating its a real item that will be readily available in 2021. The LG Rollable has what the company calls a “special resizable screen” that extends from a phone into a little tablet display. The screen slides in and out of place to supply a larger screen location.
” Our management wished to show that it is a real item, as there were numerous rumors around the rollable phone,” says an LG spokesperson in a statement to Nikkei. “As it is released at CES 2021, I can tell that it will be introduced this year.”
Nikkei also reports that LG is working with Chinas BOE Technology Group on the rollable screen technology. LG has not yet verified what show tech the Rollable is utilizing, or any information on the various display sizes.

LG initially began dealing with the Rollable as part of the companys “Explorer Project” experiments. The company has actually utilized this task to previously launch its LG Wing mobile phone, with a rotating design and 2 OLED displays.
Now that LG has branded its brand-new LG Rollable phone and verified its concerning market this year, well likely see a race amongst phone producers to roll this rollable screen technology out. TCL also showed future phone ideas back in March, and Oppo teased a concept gadget with an expandable OLED screen late in 2015.
